Interesting “Business” Activities @ Starbucks, Time Square

Starbucks, ground and mezzanine floor of Berjaya Times Square is sure a very busy cafe, especially with the number of Starbucks fans patronizing the place daily whenever we were there before and after a meeting in Berjaya Times Square.

Noticing something interesting of which want to share here so that would not be one of the victim.  There was a men from a “Mat Salleh” land patronizing the place, like daily; at least I have seen him there 3 times when I was there – morning, noon and evening.  He was wearing t-shirt and jeans, sometimes with a local “girl friend” and a young kid.

Well, this is how he works.  First sniffing around for possible “victim”, like those whom are not so well verse with the “internet” or IT [information technology].  He will start the conversation with, “is this seat taken?” as there were many other seats available.  Then, he will try to create conversation with his “victim”.  Content includes getting to know the person and where he is from, who he knows, how well connected he is and how rich he is that does not need to work anymore, sort of like retired at young age [mind you that he is not young].

I have seen him “convinced” two Chinese to give him commission worth USD100,000.  However, I do not have proof neither interested to find out.

How do I know the above?  Because he speaks rather loud and rude.  No one wanted to sit on the table next to him, I was the unlucky one because the place quite often is full, so ended up sitting on the table next to him.  Overheard this conversation within him and his “victims”.  I tried to turn on the iPod, but his talking was just too loud to ignored.

Well, if you are there using the Strabucks wifi, something to take note.

Cheerio!
