Hello Arc!

Samuel & his twin sons, with Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, at recent MobileFest Meet

Before all of you would ask me (especially KT & Rick), “Wah, orang kaya, buying three phones.”  I did not buy these, nor Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is available in Malaysia :p

Special thanks to Bernard, who has been very generous towards linking MobileFest to the brands that he works with.  After close to month of discussion and planning, MobileFest Meet for the month of March, we have Sony Ericsson to be with us.

A bit information about MobileFest.

Started in August 2010 by three founding members Samuel Tan, a public relations practitioner, Dr. Alan Teh, hematologist & stem cell expert, Khairulyadi Mahadi, an expert in gadgets.

The pillars, in MobileFest 🙂

The birth of MobileFest, not for profit group aims to bring the tech and gadget enthusiasts together, through the monthly meeting organised.
Currently the meetings are mainly hosted in Klang Valley, and perhaps could have different chapters in other regions, later.

Besides being a place to showcase the latest technology gadgets, it is also a great place of networking as well as catching up with old friends, on a monthly basis.

All gadgets showcased during MobileFest are from MobileFest-ers.  Not from any brands nor companies for marketing purposes.  It is out of love of gadgets that MobileFest-ers bought these devices, and of course for the good use.  A non OS denomination avenue, everyone is welcome.

Besides the gadgets, it is also a great avenue for troubleshooting, sharing of knowledge – how to, as well as tips and tricks on getting the devices to work better.

Everyone is more than welcome to join the meetings, and the information will be published on the Facebook page, so do look out for the updates.  The meetings are held on the mid or towards of the end of the month, normally on Saturday.

So coming back on Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

In the MobileFest meet, we always have something new to showcase.  Sony Ericsson is not exactly my favorite phone.  I once bought Retna a Sony Ericsson phone, she told me to buy something else.  My brother passed his Sony Ericsson to my mom, we ended up buying her a Nokia.

I like Benny’s blog that talks about me not liking Android that much.  It is true 🙂

I am pretty much a Mac user, minus my BlackBerry, which is pretty much required for my work.  But I believe Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is about to change my perception towards Android, and more so, the Sony Ericsson, as a brand of mobilephones.

A full house MobileFest meet

This meeting, we have a venue and F&B sponsor – Sony Ericsson, Stephanie & Eric, coordinated by Livan of Hill and Knowlton.  It is one of the meeting that we got to try the latest gadgets before they are made available to the market.  I remember during MyPDACafe glory days, I have attended DiGi’s EDGE preview.  And later, I contacted Palm Singapore for a special preview of Treo 680, Treo 780 etc at Starbucks, Carefour Subang.  Palm’s distributor C2O offered pretty good package of Treo 680 that time.

My favorite picture, taken by @retnavijayan. I also like Hazimin's jacket 🙂

Xperia Arc, comes in 4.2″ screen, which is slightly smaller than Desire HD, also uniquely equipped with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, which is capable of providing a high definition when connected to an external display.

The camera is something which Sony Ericsson is capable to different itself from all the mobilephone brands.  8.1 megapixel camera impressed everyone with its capability of taking great pictures, video as well as very low light image.

A happy group photograph!

We were told that the phone would available either in April or May, with attractive package.

So, am I convince to switch?
