Called to reserve 2 rooms for our family, while attending a family wedding reception at Danga Bay Convention Center on Dec 31, 2012. The front desk supervisor suggested us to take the 2 bed-room apartment suite instead, which we were informed when we called the first time everything has been taken.
Check in process was fast.
We had late lunch at Myra Cafe, the food was normal and the fired egg served with the fried rice was coated with over used dark oil. Yep, the egg has three layers – orange egg york, egg white and black oil stains. Ugly sight of an egg.
Then, we went back to the room to rest and also to get ready for the wedding.
It was heavy rain in Johor Bahru, and I could see the surrounding of M Suite was slowly flooding.
And my guess was right. The basement car park, we parked our cars were also flooded. About 5-6 inches height. And the rain water continued to come in to the basement car park, so one could only imagine that the flood will be as high as covering the wheels.
I managed to move our car after my sister-in-law (a group of us check-in to the same hotel to attend the wedding) called us to inform us to move our car.
When I arrived to the basement car park, the place looked like a fishing pond.
As I walked towards our car, cockroaches, lizards were crawling on my feet and legs to escape the flood. One could only imagine how terrifying that could be if you are afraid of these insects.
After I moved the car out to a safer area, I approached the front desk personnel and asked them why no one inform us about the flooding situation in the car park. I also told them that the flooding situation was not new, they already knew about this and they should have warned the guests about this.
The front desk supervisors assured me that they have been calling us to inform us to move our car. However, when they shown me the log, the mobile number as well as the guest name was someone else, not ours.
We are still following up with M Suite on explanation and possible compensation.
Something else worth mentioning is that for 2 bed room apartment, you are only entitled for 4 towels. Additional towels will be charged at RM15++ each.
The apartment is really run down. You will be greeted by a really old and stinky carpet before reaching the room.
Will I recommend this place? I must be mad if I do.
