Instead of buying, let’s make our very own kaya at home

After we bought the Arab bread from Kajang, thinking of having the kaya spread this morning, then realised whatever from Yut Kee was all gone.  So instead of driving to town again just to get the kaya (guess sometimes I must be mad to do things I like), so I thought why not make the kaya myself.

I remember it is available on the Thermomix recipe book.

Well, anyway, kaya is not in there.  But I have internet.

The whole process of making kaya with Thermomix is simple, started with mixing the 3 eggs and 1 egg york, hitting them hard.

Start the boiling of the sugar (I chose brown for the fragrance), with verona setting, about 5 minutes.  When the clock reached 4:30, stop the Thermomix, poured in the coconut milk, I used the low fat coconut milk from Ayam Brand.

The next step was to add in the Pandan leaf and something called ‘butterfly’ gadget from Thermomix into the bowl and put them to cook for 20minutes.

Once done, cooked it for another 10 minutes, with 100 degrees heat.

Voila, the kaya is ready for the bread!

Enjoy.
