Antabax & AEON Support the Malaysian AEON Foundation with More Than RM23,000 in Funds

Antabax, a trusted and innovative antibacterial personal care range by Lam Soon, has collaborated with leading retailer AEON to raise RM23,428.60 in funds for the Malaysian AEON Foundation through the ‘Rising Together, Miracle Pine’ charity fundraising campaign.

The cheque presentation was held at Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn Bhd’s Northern Distribution Centre at Bukit Minyak, a multi-award winning certified green building, commemorated by a tree-planting ceremony that fit the pine-themed campaign well, followed by a tour of the building.

From December 27, 2013 to April 30, 2014, 10% of sales from all Antabax products through all AEON outlets nationwide were channeled to the ‘With All Our Hearts’ (WAOH) Malaysian AEON Foundation, for them to disburse to deserving homes.

The total of RM23,428.60 raised was beyond the expectation of both brands, and of the Malaysian AEON Foundation as well.

The ‘With All Our Hearts’ (WAOH) Malaysian AEON Foundation is the entity that runs all major charity events and community services under AEON, which is the first and only retailer with its own charity foundation in Malaysia.

According to Mr. Francis Ng, General Manager, Household & Personal Care Marketing Division of Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn Bhd, Antabax seeks potential organisations to collaborate with every year, and the Japanese heritage of the Miracle Pine led the brand to partner with AEON.

“We trust in the Malaysian AEON Foundation to disburse funds to deserving homes for their most pressing needs, and to ensure that the funds are well spent. Antabax and our users are committed to helping those in need, and have carried out various charity fund raising activities towards this end,” Mr. Ng said.

Puan Nor Laila Mohd Samin, Senior Manager, Corporate Communication & Branding, & the Secretariat of Malaysian AEON Foundation said the foundation is glad to have partnered with Antabax through the Rising Together, Miracle Pine campaign.

“The Malaysian AEON Foundation has a proven track record of helping thousands of people. We are always on the lookout for organizations and brands that are sincere and eager to give to the underprivileged. Our collaboration with Antabax through the Rising Together, Miracle Pine campaign, saw a very generous contribution of 10% from total sales throughout the campaign period towards deserving homes,” said Puan Nor Laila.

To date, the Foundation has raised and donated more than RM3million to various organizations and needy individuals in Malaysia, irrespective of race, religion and creed.

“Homes are in need of assistance be their orphanages, old folks homes. The funds will also be used to provide financial aid for the education of poor children, living environment or medical assistance, as required.” Puan Nor Laila added. 

To commemorate the Rising Together, Miracle Pine charity fund raising campaign, a pine tree was planted on the grounds of the Lam Soon Edible Oils Northern Distribution Centre at Bukit Minyak, accompanied by a plaque.

According to Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn Bhd General Manager, Mr. Neoh Poay Eong, the Northern Distribution Centre at Bukit Minyak is accredited as the first Green Building Index (GBI) – INC (Industrial New Construction) certified distribution centre in Malaysia. The building was also named 1st Runner Up in the Tropical Building Category of the ASEAN Energy Awards 2013, one of only two Malaysian building to achieve this honour.

Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn Bhd’s Distribution Centre at Bukit Minyak was commissioned in May 2011. It consists of a two storey air-conditioned office building with an estimated Gross Floor Area of 1,400m2 and a naturally ventilated warehouse with an estimated Gross Floor Area of about 12,000m2.

The RM35million distribution centre currently enjoys 33% savings on potable water consumption as harvested rainwater is used for landscape irrigation and sewage flushing. In terms of power consumption, the green building achieved 40% improvement as a result of design innovation that maximizes natural daylight and ventilation for cooling such as louvering, low-emissivity glazing and more.

Lam Soon has been adopting sustainable development initiatives in big ways and small for the past decade in areas ranging from agricultural practices, manufacturing, new product development, packaging, warehousing and logistics, and in the development of new facilities and offices.

“We are proud of the Bukit Minyak Distribution Centre as it underscores the corporate will to sustain and preserve resources. We are glad to have taken on a leadership role in the area of environmental sustainability among Malaysian corporations.
