Respect, Courteous or Simply Superstitious

Temples, everywhere in Ubud, Bali
Temples, everywhere in Ubud, Bali

We arrived Ubud, Bali for the first time, actually on the day of the Hari Raya Galungan, which we see hanging offering known as ‘Naga’, which is the dragon, everywhere.

The Dragon, as explained to us by the locals, it is a symbol of offerings to three parties – god (on the highest), man (middle level) and evil spirit (lowest).

During the new year (hari raya), the Dragon will be hung on for 1 month and 7 days.

After which, will be removed.

We passed by the temple, with major ceremonies going on, I could see how Balinese is into the act of worship many things.

However all the offerings are surrounded by the rice, which is the main source of the diet.
