I have a Pebble, which I bought from one of the developer in Malaysia, whom happened to buy an extra set. I used it for a while, until I noticed the screen seems rather hard to read when I am using my polarised sunglasses. So, I have been thinking of selling it. But, I still have it with me, maybe I could use it for running, cycling.
So, I bought a Pebble Steel during the Black Friday sales.
It took about 10 days for it to arrive here.
The packaging is really premium, more like a buying a premium Swiss watch. I did not take any picture. Just imagine getting a Swiss watch, you will get the idea. Not that you ever going to keep your watch in there, not me.
The Steel comes with the optical hard coating for scratch resistance. Leather strap and stainless steel watch case. It is definitely heavier than the original Pebble.
I could read it clearly on my polarised sunglasses. The watch plays an important role in notifying me about incoming calls, especially phone on vibrate mode, new email, messages, DM, FB Messenger etc. Whatever apps that supported such notification on iOS, you will be notified.
The black Pebble I have does not look weird or whatever when I am wearing a work attire. So, what Pebble sales pitch about you need to wear a dress watch, is not 100% true.
What I like the most about the Steel:-
1. Long lasting battery – more than 5 days
2. Remain connected, I am not sure why, the original Pebble seems to have an intermittent connectivity issue
3. Readable under a polarised sunglasses
4. The leather is soft, and feels premium
What I hate:-
5. e-Paper screen, still
6. The leather strap, if comes with a parker would be nice
7. Still does not support Chinese character
