Antabax has joined forces with the Ministry of Health to reduce the spread of communicable diseases by introducing the Always Be Clean (ABC) Health education and awareness campaign, for the Johor region.
The campaign has a simple life lesson for everyone to learn about hygiene, health and happiness, which is to Always Be Clean (ABC). It aims to inculcate better hygiene habits among students by teaching them the basic of good hygiene.
Antabax’ ABC health campaign will benefit students and teachers of selected schools in Johor, equipping them with basic hygiene that can be among the most effective methods to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. The launch was held at SJK (C) Chien Chi, here today.
The campaign will benefits 10 school in Johor, reaching more than 10,000 students with the distribution of education material developed in collaboration between Antabax and the Ministry of Health, Malaysia on correct hand washing and sanitizing techniques during the launch to remind them on the correct steps they can take to reduce the spread of communicable disease not just HFMD but many others among the students.
At the launch more than 2,500 Antabax Care Kits were also distributed as a starter kit to equip children and their with basic hygiene products.
According to Lam Soon Edible Olis Sdn Bhd, Group Product Manager, Household, Marketing Division, Ms Angeline Sim, as a proudly Malaysian brand Antabax is always ready to assist affected communities that could benefit from the brand’s products and education materials in their time of need. Antabax has been actively collaborating with the Ministry of Health in promoting better hygiene and health since the H1N1 global pandemic in 2009.
“The spread of communicable diseases can be reduced by teaching children and adults the ABC of this campaign (Always Be Clean) and also practicing the ABC habit. A – after going to the toilet, wash hands with antibacterial soap and water; B – before eating or drinking, wash hands. Bring along hand sanitizer gel or wipes for cleaning on the go; and C – Constantly be aware of suspect surfaces either avoid touching them or sanitise them with an antibacterial spray,” said Ms Sim.
The event included an informative talk on hand hygiene, a workshop and demonstration of correct hand hygiene practices including the seven-step hand wash technique and the four-step hand sanitizing method, the appearance of the Antabax mascot, Germbuster, and the distribution of Antabax Care Kits for children and their parents.
