Retna and I went to Universal Studio Osaka and we really enjoyed it, although we do not know anything the shows were talking about. However, it was fun.
Since we were going down to Johor Bharu for the Diwali break, we took the time to visit the Universal Studio Singapore, with the kids.
The drive into Singapore, from the new Johor Causeway was relatively fast. However, the coming back to Johor, was a pain. Took us more than 2 hours to come back to Malaysia, for a 3km journey.
Well, holiday eve.
The package we bought came with 2 complimentary car parks. And it was really easy and in fact more convenience way to drive there, if the whole family is going, versus only 1 or 2 entering.
About the rides in the park, not all of them open at 10am, as The Lost World only opens at 11am, which then closes at 6pm, the last ride, probably 5:30pm. So does not give you a lot of time to roam around, thinking which ride you want to go to.
For SGD74 per adult ticket, you may want to budget in another SGD50 for the unlimited express pass, as the Transformer 3D ride, would take away an hour or more from your park time.
The Canopy Flyer, Rapid Adventure as well as Revenge of the Mummy will also set aside at least 45mins of the wait time.
So with these few famous rides, you would have set aside 5 hours plus, which does not leave you with much time for the others.
Since the park has a no outside food policy, so you are forced to eat in there, unless you can hold your hunger. The food, for Singaporean standard is also consider, expensive. For Malaysian, of course it is even more 🙂
Waterworld stunt performance, just like what we watched in Osaka, was good. We took the front seat since it was a hot day, do not mind to get wet. Anyway, since we were so well prepared with the raincoat, none of us were chosen to join the water gun battle, except Elijah, whom got sat on ha ha.
Besides that, wear a dry fit kind of outfit when you are at this park, you will get wet from the rides and of course the sweat, yes, the walking about from one ride to another is really hot.
Also in a tropical weather, it will rain. Should get wet too.
Should you come? Yes.
It is once in a lifetime experience. Not really that you can’t come back, it is just that you would spend the money on some other parks, other than visiting USS again.
