After some months, a really long one, like more than a year, I guess, we held a meet up at Teh Tarik Place @ Citta Mall on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

Good to meet the familiar faces of Alan, Ian, Kevin and Benny (whom came with his spouse for a day trip).  We are glad to meet Emmanuel, Hafiz, Loy and BC (or KC) joining us for the first time.

We had some fun time with the 360 cameras, VR gear as well as augmented reality shared by Loy, an app developer.

Kevin shared the older tech which he keeps them so well, in fact all of them in working conditions still, we saw the Palm OS powered Sony CLIÉ, which according to Kevin is 13 years old.

Ian and team putting the devices in place to take a 360 degree picture, amazing.

He also shown us the Windows powered Dopod, the name sounds so familiar right?  That the brand HTC acquired to launch mobile devices as its own brand name.

Of course the Android powered smart watches – Omate and Motorola.  The most impressive one being the typing with 1 finger on Omate, kind of useful.

Loy, joining us for the first time talked about virtual reality, augmented reality and also the 360 cameras.  His company invested heavily on the devices as well as technology through the research and development effort to bring the Malaysian business up to speed on the virtual reality.

He shown us how businesses such as theme parks, property developers could benefit so much using VR technology.  We saw some housing projects using the VR gear.

Emmanuel shown us the LEAGOO Shark which has a really large display, which later Ian tried to slot it into the VR gear, just barely fit. He runs a YouTube channel – Geekception, check him out.  We met Hafiz, whom composes all the music for Emmanuel videos.

Ian pulled some attention when he shown how one could get 1 TB worth of Google Drive storage.  Yep, 1 TB data storage.  Check the live video posted by Alan for more details.

Alan shown us his Pebble Time Round.  I actually like the device design more than Pebble Time, perhaps Pebble has done some right design to appeal to the buyers whom still thinking about whether smartwatch is for them.  Alan also shown us the Garmin Vivofit with the HR monitor.  He is really connected with devices.

Good to meet everyone again.  We shall do this again after Google I/O and Apple WWDC.

Have a great weekend.
