Antabax, the *No.1 Halal antibacterial personal care range[1], and Servay Hypermarket, the leading retailer in Sabah are collaborating on the ‘Sabah Cergas Bersama Antabax dan Servay campaign to benefit the Humana Child Aid Society Sabah.

This campaign will run from June 10, 2016 until September 9, 2016 and will see 5% of the sales from all Antabax products in all participating Servay outlets in Sabah channelled to equip 50 Humana Child Learning Centres in the state with education essentials and sports equipment. The campaign also aims to encourage more Sabahan to adopt an active lifestyle and focus on their health.

A study by the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) on Malaysian children showed that Sabah topped the chart in the percentage of children living in poverty, at 31%. The national average is 9% with Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor having a low percentage of only 2%-4% of their children were poor.[2]

Humana Child Aid Society Sabah is a Malaysian Registered NGO, founded in 1991 and they aim to create an opportunity for underprivileged children in rural Sabah to receive better access to education. The society has established 140 Humana Learning Centre state wide that provide teachers, a conducive environment for teaching and learning, educational materials and even sports equipment for these children. These centres support more than 13,000 children currently.

According to Ms Mandy Lee, the Senior Brand Manager, Household & Personal Care, Marketing Division at Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn. Bhd., Antabax is focused on assisting different organisations nationwide, bringing positive change to the lives of those in need. The brand is also focused on promoting active lifestyles for a healthier nation.

Mr. Jan Mohd. Khan, Executive Director of Humana said during the launch that the donation from this campaign would be used in the upgrading works of the children’s learning centres. This needs to be done to make sure that the children and teachers at the learning centres has a conducive learning environment.

He mentioned, “The fund collected throughout this campaign will be utilized to buy new white boards for the learning centres. This is not only one of our moves to upgrade our learning facilities, but this is also for the health and well being of the teachers and students, since chalk dust can bring harm to individuals. The fund will also be used to get more sports equipment for the children’s physical education to promote an active lifestyle and healthier living.”

Also present during the kick-off of this campaign was a member Humana’s Executive Committee, Dr. Avinash K. Chand, Deputy Director of Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kota Kinabalu and also Mr. Antony Siau, Servay Hypermarket Merchandising Manager to witness the officiating of this campaign.
