Both the trips to Brunei have been work related.

The last round when I came here, we organised a media briefing for the client as well as to attend a Royal Banquet afterward.

This time round, after the work schedule been cleared out, I did not head back immediately, but decided to stay for another day to learn and explore the country a bit.

I went to Jame’asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque alone and was told I could not enter into the mosque as Thursday and Friday, it prohibits the non-Muslim, as not to interrupt the Friday prayer.

Even though I am a Christian, I love the architecture and arts aspects of Islam.  I have been to Islamic Arts Museum a couple of times, mainly to admire and learn about the arts and culture.  Last year, I attended a session hosted by the Lembaga Tabung Haji on the Haj, which I think I was the only Chinese at the event, which I also went for the museum tour after that.

There is not much information I could obtain at this mosque since I could not enter.  Well, Wiki then.

I went to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque for a quick visit.  Again no entry into the mosque.

So just admire from outside.

I later went to Malay Technology Museum, which I will share in a different blog entry.
