It is the 8th CSR initiative to take place in Sarawak and it is good to be back again with the Ayam Brand team to work on the annual campaign to give back to the community.
This time round, we will be traveling to East Malaysia, with some rather extensive schedule. Yep, why I said extensive, because it would have been over 3 locations, in 3 days. In the past, we used to do 2 locations over 3-4 days.
So this year we worked with The Coffee Factory crew to setup the locations for this media event.
It is good to meet some of the homes whom were the recipients from some years back.
I met some cool students from the homes this year, as they are curious and eager to learn from the Ayam Brand team and chef.
It is also great to meet and work with the Ayam Brand team in Sarawak – Stanley and Michael, always a pleasure to work with. I also got to learn so much about Sarawak from them. Most of my trips to Sarawak have been work related, very little and none to do with holiday. Perhaps the next family holiday could have been to Borneo.
The children learnt how to prepare four Ayam Brand dishes in a fun and interactive session that was specially developed to suit people of different ages and abilities; namely Mixed Fruit Salad, Baked Bean, Heart Shaped Sardine Sandwich and Tuna Onigiri under the guidance of celebrity Chef Loke from T-Garden Cooking School.
This year, we have Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Sarawak, Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society, The Green Ribbon Association, Rumah Amal Nur Murni and Salvation Army Girl’s Home. The campaign in Sarawak will benefit 115 children across these five charity organizations with two months of Ayam Brand products.
