红与金 RED & GOLD

I personally got to know Jerome Kugan, many years back, while Retna and I attended a poetry session hosted at a cafe in Bangsar.  He was on stage on an emotional content, which I do not really remember the content, but I remember the expression, anger and even the passion in the content.

After several years, in one of the hosted lunch organised at our home, we had Jerome as well as the others over.  We got to know him a bit better and more.

We are truly glad when he posted on the social media that he would be hosting his first solo collection, with the theme, RED & GOLD.

The Star covered his exhibition in details, so you may refer it there.

I am sharing pictures which I have taken during the artist and curator talk on Sunday afternoon, we attended.

Retna and I asked few questions during the session (which we usually do, as we are eager to know more and learn more).

At the back, you could see the 4 artworks hanging from the ceiling. I love the composition and arrangement of the artworks. The shadows, presented a different perspective to what Jerome wanted to express.

As the picture above shows, I am really into the way how the artwork is presented.

A combination of 65 packs of Gudang Garam.

Jerome explained how his collection began, through these inspirations.

Us, and Jerome.

The twins made a trip to Jerome’s exhibition on the last day of the show, after they read the exhibition booklet we brought back.  Elijah is especially into arts.
