After several months of waiting, I have decided to write the experience here. Before the Chinese New Year this year, Cinnamon Home Fellowship embarked on a mini charity programme on January 10. This first mini charity programme received tremendous response from the Cinnamon members thus some decided to contribute even more for the second round [...]
I always wonder why Ariel choose this pants after he came back from school today. Well, check it out. I remember seeing the similar pants in GQ and Wallpaper earlier. Maybe he has read them too?
Retna, Elijah and Ariel brought their husband and father to HJ Samuri’s Kajang Satay, Kajang last night. The meal has been good and I actually quite like the noodle and fried rice, despite the Satay. By the way, do you know that Satay word is originated from Hokkien? It means three pieces (三块). Cheerio.
The earlier conversation that I had with a parent whose son’s forehead required six stitches after being “wrestled” by a standard four boy and thrown onto a concrete bench. I saw the boy and the father while sending the boys to school this morning. Certainly the boy looks quite grown up with a standard five [...]
I always wonder when one hired an Indonesian maid with the objective to reduce work load or simply to become lazy? In this picture, I could only think of the later. Apology about the picture as I am taking it with my iPhone 3G, not 3GS which does the zooming Hint, hint on birthday present. [...]
To celebrate my birthday, I decided to start the day by cleaning the dried bamboo leaves on the small garden and then to take Jackie for a walk. She is Retna’s favorite dog and what the boys and I are trying to do is to groom and pamper her once in a while. She has [...]
Retna asked me how I wanted to celebrate my birthday, I said, “Let’s have German knuckles!” But, truly, my birthday wishes are simply the following:- Our mothers will continue to be with us for many years. Wish that my mom’s Parkinson would be sustain at present stage, not to worsen Our brothers and sisters would [...]
After sending the children to school and I got back home at 0730, I decided to clean the small garden and later to take Jackie for a walk. I am not too sure what was prompting me to finish the regular route and to proceed to another walk at SJK (C) Ladang Harcroft. While I [...]
After eight years, we meet Madan, Meera and this time Manas, their eight year old son, who was born a day before our two boys. They shared about the same height and same interest in toys. During the short coming over our home earlier, our boys played the Nintendo Wii FIFA with Manas.
I remember once my mom told me one thing that my grandparents found it hard to stand during the second world war and Japan invasion was hunger for food. She told me some of the neighbors willing to let go of daughters and sons or even important information in exchange of food. Today, I witnessed [...]
Thanks Mr. Tan, Principal of SJK (C) Ladang Harcroft for sharing the progress of the school and our children with me this morning. I would like to share with everyone on the temporary official website of the school which is here.
Thanks to Ladang Harcroft announcement on recent H1N1′s updates and prevention suggestion. Both our sons have been asking us for the masks to be used at school. They have them today and ready to go against H1N1.
At a glance I almost thought I have been served with Secret Recipe’s Carrot Cake. Until I realised the earlier does not has the fragrance smell of cinnamon – this is my home baked carrot cake by Retna for my birthday. Together with the Cinnamon Home Fellowship members, we finished about half of this 2kg [...]
I went for a client’s meeting last week and while the client was planning to introduce me to his new team, but he was there yet. So he called his team to look out for someone with face hair – mustache and beard. When I met his team, they asked me what happened to my [...]
Great news, it is official now. Indonesia has banned the export of Indonesian maids to Malaysia after much incidents of maids abused happening in Malaysia. However, there seems to be resolution on this ban, as talk has been arranged on July 15. It is clear that Indonesian authority will this ban as a bargaining chips [...]
While waiting for the movie Transformer 2: Revenge of the Fallen to begin, had a quick look at the Facebook status updates of friends. Saw update by Malaysian politician, “I am working,” and the comment from one of his friend, “Do you think you are the only one who is working, and the rest are [...]
Thanks Fredy for the kind blessing of four tickets of Transformer 2: Revenge of the Fallen. :-) Must say that Michael Bay knows what the audience wants in the second movie of Transformer series – visual effect of new Transformers namely both autobots and decepticons, and Megan Fox. I could possibly see that the entire [...]
Our first long distance trip with our Citroën Grand C4 Picasso was Melaka and yesterday we tried it with another long distance drive, Ipoh. About three adults in the car, the entire drive was pleasant and quiet, however can hear some road noise when approaching 150km/h. Other than that, the drive and ride have been [...]
Since most of the Filipino helpers are given off day on Sunday, as most of them need to attend Sunday service or mass. The association for the Indonesian maids also has asked for off day, may I suggest Friday instead? Why? Simply that is the day they could perform their prayer at mosque. Make sense?
After traveling with Ayam Brand team around Peninsular for its Community Care Programme 2009, we are glad that most of the children, friends at respective homes for orphanages, disable persons are now learn to make and prepare their own meal – simple and yet nutritious tuna sandwich. Ipoh is the last regional media launch for [...]
I was in Ipoh yesterday for Ayam Brand Community Care Programme 2009 last regional media launch. Took the opportunity to meet and catch up with KT, former strong marketing sifu of Brother International Malaysia. KT, together with his lovely spouse, are now the owners of Ipoh largest Nissan distributor. His Nissan show unit is located [...]
We received good news from Dr. Fan of TDMC last Friday about the result on Amniocentesis – that our baby girl is normal with no symptom of down. Did I just mention girl? Yes, praise the Lord, she is a girl! Truly want to thank the Cinnamon Home Fellowship members and friends for the kind [...]
Just saw this blog entry at The Star Blog about not needing Indonesian maids at all. Also, The Star reported that Malaysia is the last destination of work in Indonesian maids’ list. If they are not willing to come here, please stop bringing them in, as it would cause more problems than benefits to the [...]
After Elijah showcased his ZOOBormer yesterday as Ariel was finishing his school and mental mathematic works; Ariel completed his ZOOBormer – SoundWave. Quite worthwhile investment and Hoi Yan and Yau Leong also gave their sons and daughter the same ZOOB that provides endless hours of creativity and fun.
Bocehe Dewe Association has suggested that only Malaysian Muslim can employ and apply for Indonesian maids. However, this is only possible for Muslim maids, as there are many non-Muslim Indonesian maids in Malaysia. I see it as good news. Thanks for this great suggestion.
