MobileFest November Meet @ pH PastryHouse, a new project co-owned by chef Joe
Dr. Alan Teh, was concern about the traffic to town. However, he reached pH PastryHouse, in shortest time. Partly thanks to the many tolls he paid
pH PastryHouse, the venue for the MobileFest November Meet. chef Joe, the co-owner of pH invited us way before his restaurant, cafe was ready. We finally made it to his place, congratulations chef Joe and team. What a wonderful venue, as some have commented, very ‘Australian’, up market etc.
Despite the regular gadgets brought by all MobileFest friends, we treated ourselves with pastry, salad, pasta and bread from pH.
Ok, enough on food.
Thanks to Bernard, we could see the next version of Sony Ericson Arc S, which was introduced recently. Retailing at RM1,899, still the same form factor as Arc, we seen in March this year. Speed wise, faster. The packaging still come with a lot of goodies, handsfree, HDMI cable etc.

Sony Tablet
Alex brought Marcus’ Sony Tablet, which available in Hong Kong and Singapore. Running on Gingerbread (Android 2.3), nice feel. Although looking thick, unlike the other tablet, which working on slim form factor, but, surprisingly, the tablet is really light. According to Alex, Marcus got the whole package (keyboard, case & the tablet) for below RM2,000. Wow, value for money. Of course, the Sony, just like before with Palm OS, it has its propitiatory media apps and Playstation.

HP Pre 3
Alan brought his Pre 3, which is again a sad state of HP, such great product that it has discontinued. Nice feel, solidly built, compares to Palm Pre, Pre 2 and Pre Plus. Of course Alan also shown us his TouchDroid, TouchPad running on GingerBread. Impressive, but he mentioned some bugs, which awaiting for developer to resolve.
In the meet, we shared our passion on mobile technology industry, consumer and enterprise industry and food.
Happy new year guys.
We will meet again, perhaps Jan 2012.

I saw the Sony Tablet in Singapore during my trip there early this month. Also saw the ASUS eeeSlider, very impressed with the way it opens for the keyboard to slide out from beneath. Also saw a 7″ tablet from Singapore’s own Creative Labs. That one, not so impressive.
Thanks Chet.
Actually when I saw the ASUS eeeSlider, I like it very much also. With the keyboard, it looks like a netbook.
