Without realising (much), the S.O.A.P journal experience has entered into 68 days, with the book of Matthew. Thinking about the impossible in terms of timing, work and family commitment in doing the S.O.A.P journal, it seems I am heading towards the end of Matthew in another 16 days.
How this is possible?
Clearly besides God as one of the primary factor, it is self-discipline. However, for me, self-discipline is like going for a run on regular basis, waking up early, going through four Chinese newspapers daily etc. What captured my attention on the journal was one thing mentioned by Pastor Wayne Cordeiro, in a recent HF meeting where he said to do the journal on Word of God, we actually allowing God to work through or in us. Another fact is that by not spending this time with God, like few minutes of one day, we might missed out what He has in plan for us. You can find the entry on the meeting here.
Other benefits of journal – improves hand writing, of which very replaced by computer keyboard.
By the way, there is also an online S.O.A.P journal entries maintained by Fredy and myself, here.
In doing the S.O.A.P journal, we also see the boys are picking the Bible reading habit, perhaps learning from parents?
Hallelujah. Have a great day!
