About Complaining

Gladness, brings happiness

A rather funny topic to talk about especially after the assistant principal and class teachers for our sons at Ladang Harcroft mentioned that children in standard one, two and three like to complain – a lot.  This complaining idea just caught my attention for the rest of the day, as I really thought it is true that only children likes to do so, almost at a stage of my life where my perception towards “complaining” might have changed completely…  However, thank God that my perception towards “complaining” remains.  Why?

It is human nature that we like to whine and complain.  This is clearly illustrated in Genesis and especially Exodus.  The crowd that followed Moses almost has a standard “trademark” – whining.  So, not only limited to children.

Our company organised a product preview session for one of our clients, when it comes to lunch, there were complaints on not enough seats, slow service from the wait stuff, noisy etc.  One interesting complaint, the food was so nice, and so much!

I just wonder, it is a matter of education from early – meaning should taught the children from young about giving praise or be glad with one has instead of whining or complaining of what one has or did not have.

Suggestion to school – why not educate the children to give thanks and appreciate whatever one has, like the 629 event – appreciation.

Also, one of the sermons shared on Sunday in the beginning of February was about LEADERSHIP, one of the factor shared by the speaker was on giving thanks instead of complaining when his house was broken into.

Well, thought of the day.
