  • How Many Times to Forgive?

I remember one conversation that Ariel and Elijah had before going to bed – forgiving BWSNBN.  Like how many times they should forgive him. BWSNBN has been spreading rumors in Ladang Harcroft about how un-Christian-like of Ariel and Elijah that they refused to forgive him for what he has done to them [beat’em, kick’em, laugh’em, tease’em etc’em].  Elijah choose to forgive him, Ariel did as well except they are in the same class so BWSNBN really got onto Ariel’s toes on daily basis.  So both the brothers has been arguing about how many times they should forgive BWSNBN. In Matthew 18:21-25, Peter asked Jesus how many times he needed to…

  • Things We Learn After Indonesian Maid Departed

When we were at The Gardens during the beginning of Chinese New Year, we saw a family of 3 children had two Indonesian maids accompanying them in shopping.  The father was walking ahead with the elder daughter, mother walked by herself, one maid handles the shopping items plus the other daughter and the other handles the baby. When I told Retna, “Wow, two maids with three kids, just like our neighbor,” She replied, “The Tans family, two kids, no maid,” In the actual fact, we actually managed to cook decent meal at home without the maid!  We prepared all the ingredients, materials required for muffins, pizza, cinnamon rolls etc all…

  • 福建人拜天公Eighth Day of Chinese New Year

Since I am Hokkien, I would like to blog about 拜天公 or worship the god of sky by Hokkien, as the most important day in Chinese New Year.  There will normally be quite a lot of celebration in terms burn offering, sugar cane as part of the worship and off course the all time Chinese favorite – roast pork.  The tradition started after a group of Hokkien villager during the Dynasty Ming, escaped from the harm and danger when they were hidden in the sugar cane farm.  The villager believed that it was god of sky that has spared their lives.  Since then, they have set the eight day of Chinese…

  • Let’s Go Outside

Enough of dissatisfaction with the neighbor.  We decided to go out to the Bukit Jalil Park for some walk and fresh air [too much smoke around resulted from the fire work in our neighborhood].  Took quite a number of shots, here are some to share with you.      All right, enough pictures of children.   Let show you some of the flora shots taken.      This is not available in Bukit Jalil Park, but in Steven’s Corner.  Good food, but bad service.  If you are having Nasi Daun Pisang here, make sure you are not served by a tall gentlemen, you either get less or nothing.  Or, you…

  • We All Want Fredy as Our Neighbor [Don’t We]

After attending the BOTY Party organised by Fredy beginning of this year, we seriously take Fredy and Wendy as our example in dealing with neighbors.  They got everyone to come and celebrate the new year together, not just once, but I have seen it before.   Last night, I tried to be Fredy-like, moved our car away from our house so that neighbor could have their “LoqLoq” van to be parked in front of our house.  Well, when we came back from Home Fellowship Chinese New Year Dinner organised by Nigel & Yim Yim, we were shocked as the front of our house was the fire work ground.  Despite the…

  • Starbucks? No Way.

Quite often when one needs internet access while on the go, will look for Wi-Fi zones such as Starbucks, Old Town, Coffee Bean etc.  Look at uncle in the picture, he just need Tea Kee, a well known Wan Tan Mee restaurant along Jalan Puchong.    He was chatting with his friends while browsing and getting his work done.  Truly government has been successful in implementing the ICT lifestyle. You can see that one needs no expensive coffee to be ICT savvy, but just a simple Chinese Tea and off course some cigarettes.   Nice one.

  • My Motivation – Cayenne

Have been thinking about Porsche Cayenne, not sure why, could be the article in Fortune.   Truly a dream car.  Or, remain as dream for me?   Not sure, Lord’s blessing in 2009 or 2010?  With current economic environment, maybe remain as dream first.     🙂
