Every festive season turns into a shopping frenzy, and the action has moved increasingly online. With the convenience of online payment and in-app purchases, with delivery to your door, comes the very real risk of cybercrime, with you as the target. For cyber criminals, your frenzied shopping to get all the items you need delivered before the festivities begin is a prime opportunity. This is because in the euphoria and adrenaline rush of shopping, you will be more likely to make basic mistakes that can expose your personal data. General Manager for Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia,…

  • A Wonderful Time Together

Seldom find the time to be totally away from work with our children. We decided this time round to spend the time with them on the first few days of Chinese New Year.  The result, fantastic. Got to know our sons and daughter better, not that we are bad parents.  Just that we always have been spending time together, often while we were still busy with our work. I would not say that our work is demanding, but we have certain level of commitment. However, the commitment level for our children are the same too. I find that our sons are more open to communicate with us, when we are…

  • Jumaat Hitam, Only Happened Once

Received the above email marketing from Apple for Black Friday sales. Whether you believe it or not.  Apple Malaysia did offer Black Friday once, I think it was like close to a year after its site went live. We bought a MacBook Pro with additional that time, with 20% discount. Will Apple do it again?  Probably, or certainly no. For Malaysian market, Apple has replaced that with Red Friday, or Red Dragon Sales, caters for Chinese New Year.  I think Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore are part of this sales. Since Malaysian does not celebrate Thanksgiving, so there is no point of having a sale, although many have been waiting…

  • 时来运转、转危为安、转败为胜、扭转乾坤,恭賀新喜、身體健康、萬事如意

This year, the word for year of the Dragon is ‘转’, means change of twist.  ‘转’ is timely in fact.  Many things in life we are afraid to change or twist the things around.  Simply, we are too comfortable with the zones that we are in. Believe it or not, many great things only take place when we take the bold steps in making the change. I know it was pretty hard to read the whole Bible, and almost impossible for me to complete it in one year.  I did it in about 3 months.  I made the change. When 1 member sabotaged and challenged a user interest group we started because…

  • Chinese New Year Eve Morning

I woke up slightly later today, thought to catch some more sleep. I decided to wash the car, and never have guessed I could actually completed the task in less than an hour. When twins and daughter were awake, I brought them to the park. They enjoyed themselves with the basketball, while daughter was just so happy to run around the court. It was such a nice morning to begin with. Praise the Lord.

  • 杂什心情 Mixed Feelings

A short week to start work for many after Chinese New Year. Received news about our sons’ Sunday Children Church teacher’s brother was involved in an hit-and-run accident on the first day of Chinese New Year, Feb 14.  Pastor Sim, the preacher on the same Sunday, reminded the congregation to hold on to God when praying and seeking Him.  Do not let go of God until He answered or interceding for someone. I began to pray for the teacher’s brother.  The later update was that he was undergoing the brain surgery to remove the blood clot in his head.  The procedure went on well, later he was discharged from intensive…
