• Basilica, after watching Angels and Demons

I have watched the Angels and Demons, a movie adaptation by Dan Brown, whom our family, majority not a fan.  We read because it is entertaining, but I must say Mr. Brown is very creative and imaginative.  You can not be a writer who makes money without having both. So when we arrived at the Basilica, the feeling is so great that I could see the place, like D-place, which I have only thought of seeing it from websites and pictures.  It is amazing.  We are here. The St Peter Square is seriously huge, to cater for the crowd gathering. Where as the Basilica, just like everywhere else in Vatican,…

  • Awake, You Who Are Sleep

Reading Ephesians in preparation of our home fellowship retreat is truly a God’s given joy and blessing. I read Ephesians 5:8-14 this morning, God is telling us not to hide the darkness, rather expose it.  God does not just wants us to expose it and stop there, but He gives even better things, He gives us light. 14 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” So, trust in Him. Have a blessed day.

  • “He is my son, I can’t give up on him”

I must admit this.  My 2011 new year resolution is to read the Bible as my daily devotional material instead of newspaper.  Well, blamed it to the Oriental Daily (my mom’s favorite for now) that delivers very early in the morning, like 5am.  So our sons head to school with the transporter, our Cambodian helper would have brought the Oriental Daily into our living hall.  So, must be the attraction of knowing what was going. Enough of blaming the very nice newspaper delivery man. When reading the news about gay Chinese youth that has been termed as con that also forced the victim to perform unnatural sexual activities (i.e. sodomise…

  • We must be ready

While reading today’s scripture – Luke 10, 11 & 12, I sensed that God is telling us the urgency to be ready.  This includes to be ready for the coming of Christ, as well as to be ready in our life.  When disasters strike, are we ready to handle the situation?  Just like what has happened in Egypt on political, flood in Johor and loss of life on the recent road accidents.  For road accidents during the festive, are the family members protected with insurance, enough of funds for the remaining family to survive, especially with younger children? You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come…

  • I have nothing, only Jesus Christ

Elder Dorai, Mission Director of Full Gospel Assembly since 1987, was lecturer of Forestry Engineering, before committing his life to serve Christ full time. Scriptures quoted were from both Acts 3 and 4. 6Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9When all the people saw him walking and…

  • Side Effect of Evangelism, If Done Wrongly

Bro Benny Ong of Life Planning Associates shared on Sunday about something on evangelism that believing and accepting Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior would means problem and trouble free.  So one would choose to ask, why should believe in Jesus Christ?  Why not believe in people, money or just anything that could comfort a person? Bro Benny Ong also shared that when one has too much money, the person would accumulated even more problems. What is your view on this?  Please share it in the comment section? BTW, one thing many students in the Spiritual Growth II class found rather irrelevant was when the facilitator shared how prosperous…
