• Learning about nakedness

Naked, is a taboo. While my mother does not allow me to see her naked while I was growing up, as she told me, it is not right, because I should not see any woman without the clothes on. I wanted to tell my mom that I have seen her naked when I was born, and same goes for her, she has seen me naked as a child. I used to swim in the public pool in Kuala Lumpur, where I used to encounter naked men bathing, walking about.  I used to think it was strange where these men wanted someone to look at them naked. However, I took nakedness…

  • Handling Own Kids, With Care, Discipline

There are days I think there are so much we could do and achieve without having kids, but that was not really a wishful thinking, just wild thinking, or rather thinking of no sense, when the mind just too occupied with crazy issues in family to resolve. But in a way, I am glad we chose to have kids, namely the Tan-Vijayans. They are all miracles from God.  From the twins, survived through the pre-mature delivery.  The daughter, after 8 years, we planned to have addition to the family, there were challenges, but God delivered all of them to us.

  • Are we in for s**t in our education?

For really long time, I find that our sons are unable to comprehend their text book content, resulted low grades in their examinations, most of the time.  I went through the subjects with them and I have to agree that most text books are rather – boring. The most important things probably they would learn in school – memorizing the facts, which would be the typical questions asked during the examinations. The text book seldom or probably does not have anything related to the following:- 1. How to think – logically, creatively and out of the box.  Unless the kids are being taught by their parents at home, or else,…
