• While driving home this morning

My colleague, Retna and I were at client’s place to clean up terrible mess left by one of the irresponsible partner, anyway, that mess is sorted and now not a problem, but an opportunity for us. While driving back, Retna and I talked a lot about our Christian life, our faith in God, what we have gone through as well as what happened to our children in their previous school.  Some of the things made me angry, especially how the previous school treated our sons, spreading lies etc, but we could only conclude that it is by God’s grace we are able to go through all these.

  • Tips on Daily Devotion

I am not an expert of daily devotion. Doing daily devotion, reading God’s word is an important routine of Christian.  However, because many things influencing or rather taking our time away from God, we seldom able to read, and communicate with Him well. Psalm 119:105 > Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. So, I gathered some tips along the way while I was doing my daily devotion, seriously, for 2 years.  I have completed reading the whole Bible, I think if I would follow the plan well, I could do it in less than 90 days.  However, let’s not rush through it.…

  • Jehovah Warriors!

While we were at the FGAKL HF Retreat, Region 2A, which we are part of this group, came out with a meaningful or rather closely related to the dynamic of the group culture – Jehovah Warriors. The 5 main groups were given 10 minutes to draw a shield for the group as well as developing a cheer for the group too.

  • David, the Lions & the Bears

34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”    Saul…

  • Early Hours, Getting Ready for the God’s Call

God’s timing. 1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of…

  • How you keep in touch?

During discussion with CWA and CIMB this afternoon, I received a call from a very well known listed company owner and chairman, asking if I have received his email, sent by his secretary.  Not to be rude to him while we were in serious money and financial discussion, I politely informed him that from the last check on my BlackBerry, I did not receive anything from him nor his secretary. Of course I was curious about the call, as the chairman of this company has not been calling personally like this since the last time when his daughter got married.  So, my immediate feel was that it must be his…

  • But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke

A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. ~ Proverbs 13:1 How many of us had the above experience when we are being disciplined or disciplining?  This is not just about parent disciplining the child, but also superior to subordinate, mentor to  mentee etc. Then look at the following and tell me what do you think. He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly. ~ Proverbs 13:24 Discipling child is not easy.  It is painful to both the child and parent.

  • How iPad2 craze has reached the church

“Is that an iPad2?” senior pastor asked me this morning while at church. “It is iPad, first generation.” I replied. “Is that an iPad2?” a senior church leader asked. “No.  Still using iPad, first generation.” I answered. “Do you know how Pastor XXX (to remain anonymous so to maintain the integrity of the said person) got his iPad2?” one asked me. “He saw the long waiting line and went straight to Machines at Mid Valley and told the shop assistant that he wanted to launch a complaint about the way how they handle the sales resulted long waiting line.  Do you expect a 70+ man to stand in line to buy an…
