Ass-es, every where.
Last week when I was driving around for the errands in Puchong, I encountered at least twice in a day with some mad drivers on the road. Many of them unable to keep to their respective lane while driving, and do you know why? I think if the drivers were sleepy, it is understood, as the life is hard. So you may get tired. Well, the drivers were on the phone, either talking without the handsfree, or simply manoeuvre the online maps for direction, or worst of all, replying text messages. So an auntie driver let her car came close, really close to our DS5, and almost hit the car,…

When stupid people remains stupid
We stayed at a Airbnb apartment in Johor recently. The experience was not great, mainly the host or our handler was someone, whom I think must be really dumb to begin with. I find it beyond my comprehension to ask someone where I can park our car. His reply, “Car park Mr. Tan,” “The basement or the floor above car parks, because there are two here,” I said. “Car park, Mr. Tan,” he again replied. I went to the basement car park which is designated for the visitors, ouch. Only found out when I needed to exit the car park. The not so helpful security personnel, whom only speak Nepali…

The Pope Blessing on Vatican City
Sunday in Rome, the best place to be, other than on bed, is the St Peter’s Square of which at 12noon, Pope Francis will bless the crowd. You need to understand Italian and Latin to enjoy the full blessing. Or, turn on the Google Translate with the voice recording to the effect. Just like the Roman Catholic services I have attended, it is very structure, nothing to be filled with the spirit. So, the time is also structured in the way which one knows when to end. Pope Francis brought 2 young students with him to read out the blessings. There is really no ideal or better spot at the…

Sometimes, we do not know what’s ahead, but
Have faith. Kind of simple to say to one or anyone about having faith. Try it, to tell yourself to have faith. My English was not the strongest. I first heard and learn about the word, ‘faith’ when I first heard George Michael’s Faith. ‘Cause I gotta’ have faith I gotta’ have faith Because I gotta’ have faith, faith, faith I got to have faith, faith, faith Later when I attended church in English service, I learn about faith in greater details. From Dictionary.com:- noun 1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another’s ability. 2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact. 3. belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion: the firm faith of the Pilgrims. 4. belief in anything, as a code of ethics, standards of merit, etc.: to be of the same faith with someone concerning honesty. I think what I learn faith the most will be related to point 2 and perhaps point…

My Instagram
What app to launch? #Apple #AppleWatch A post shared by Samuel Tan (@hisamueltan) on Apr 19, 2016 at 10:03pm PDT After much considerations, I decided to separate my Instagram account from my regular Facebook and Twitter accounts. The pictures I have taken, I could tell more stories just through the pictorial. Without much explanation. Just like letting the pictures speak a thousand if hundred of words.

Going to Church
Few times, we were asked by the Tan-Vijayans, why am I going to church? Am I a born Christian? The answer for the kids – Yes. Do I have a choice to choose? The answer, again, yes.

Where God Places His Strengths For Us
I was feeling down due to the current affairs and things going on in life, and the humour sermon by the preacher from Singapore on Saturday did not help.
