• Surprising Kuala Pilah

We did an impromptu visit to Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan on the first day of Raya festive season, which was a major public holiday in Malaysia. A bit about Kuala Pilah. It is about 25km more or less depending where you destined to reach from Seremban. The journey was really pleasant though we were caught in a massive traffic jam, as many were heading to Kuala Pilah for Raya visits. Well, it added about 45 minutes extra to our drive, so took us about 1.5 hours from Port Dickson to reach the town. The road condition is really good, with some hilly parts, the local government has built wider roads…

  • (Several) One Night In Bangkok

We were in Bangkok in September for a short trip.  Decided to come back again during Christmas.  Wanting to experience the Christmas atmosphere at a city of which would expect the most influx of tourists during the Christmas and New Year period. The journey leaving Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 was a breeze, thinking the airport would be packed.  Anyway, it was packed. However, the MAHB and the airline companies have done a good job in ensuring all passengers welfare are taken off.  Though the toilet lines are rather long, especially for female.  The security checking was smooth, as compared to two weeks ago I was at the same airport.…

  • If God Is Here, He Moves The Beauty and Wonders

We made a trip to Kandy, which is located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, one of the major cities, besides Colombo.  Also the last city where the ancient king of Ceylon resided, which I will share more in the later entries. After the trips to Temple of the Tooth Relic (Buddha’s tooth) and Botanic Garden, we decided to head to the lodge which we have booked to stay for a night.  We reached the bottom of Madukelle Eco & Lodge hill about 6pm, and arrived at the lodge closer to 8:30pm.  The distance was only 19.5km.  Amazing right?  There is basically very narrow drive way for normal size…

  • 東京へようこそ

The last time Retna and I were in Tokyo was in 2013, when we came to experience Japan for the first time.  I came to Nagoya and Kyoto in 2014 for work. While I really love Japan, I could not find enough reason to come back.  However, since Taipei, Hong Kong were not on the interest of the children, and we took them to Rome, and told them so much about Japan experience, they asked us, let’s do Japan. We arrived at Tokyo after a few movies that I watched and had really good laugh during the flight, until the twins told me, I have to lower my laugh. November…

  • Driving in Rome, Graduated If You Still Alive.

The Rome trip has been fruitful and great. The Tan-Vijayans really enjoyed themselves, so do we, Retna and I. We took a flight from KLIA, and then transited in Dubai, before reaching Rome, or the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport.  The whole journey – about 14 hours of flight time.  We were lucky to have a short transit in Dubai.  So less waiting. Arrived in Rome at about 6:25pm, and the hotel transfer came to pick us up at the same time.  We reached the hotel in less than 20mins, mainly the driver drove really fast. It is like, one just want to drive fast for the sake of driving fast.…

  • Hello Hong Kong from The Peak!

The Victoria Peak is a wonderful place to be, as it gives a really nice view of Hong Kong, in fact almost the whole Hong Kong. To get here, you just need to purchase the ticket of the tram to get up here.  The whole journey would take probably less than 5 minutes.  If you do not want to wait for long on the queue to get to the peak, you could opt for the express ticket, which comes with visit to the Madame Tussaud – wax museum, but costly. There are quite a number of the escalators to line up to head to the Peak.  It is quite so time…
