• Epic Fails

Taken from Wikipedia on what is epicenter – The epicenter, epicentre /ˈɛpɪsɛntər/ or epicentrum[1] is the point on the Earth‘s surface that is directly above the hypocenter or focus, the point where an earthquake or underground explosion originates.  Then, taken from EpiCentre’s website:- “The last of the human freedom is to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.”-Victor Frankl Seriously well said by Jimmy Fong, the co-founder of EpiCentre, the premium Apple reseller in Singapore and Malaysia.  Oh, it has one in IOI Mall, where #WelcomeToPuchong land is.  Generally a blessed land, until idiots arrived to dictate the otherwise.

  • Time to Say Goodbye, Fitness First, You & I Second

Finally, it came to the end – June 30, 2011, the last day of Fitness First global passport membership.  Too ambitious of taking the global passport of which never utilise in the 1.5 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbN0g8-zbdY But I am glad it ends well, although I totally dislike Fitness First, not just terrible services, but the equipments were also either old or malfunction. Well, no more whining about Fitness First, I will be running on the road again, exercise at home, or perhaps invest in some gym equipments for home. Adios.

  • “I love you.” “I love you too!”

Feeling a bit under the weather yesterday, went home slept for many hours, and after dinner, kids all gone to bed.  I asked Retna if she wanted to watch a movie.  We decided either Pirates of Caribbean or Super 8.  Since Pirates of the Caribbean was not shot in 3D, and only 3D version available at GSC, we opt for Super 8. I think we made the right choice. No thanks to the GSC super duper slow pop corn counter, which was extremely slow.  We got in after 5mins of the movie, which was the part that Joe Lamb’s mom pass away in an accident.

  • Fitness First, We Second, Now Last Month

Joined Fitness First in 2008, 2009, can’t really remember. But one thing I remember very well is that – I joined in preparation of Run for the Nation. I trained on my running that time almost on daily basis. I also brought my running shoes along when I was traveling for work. One thing about Fitness First – I never really enjoy being there. I don’t talk to the trainers because they are constantly on the look out to sell me training packages. I also do not talk to any one at all because I will start talking or chatting and wasted my time going there. Although I have some…

  • I wanna sing!

Must say the effect of karaoke is severe.  It leaves a terribly good effect as well as memory. Although I had a wrong impression about friend that went together to karaoke last Friday – that they don’t like to sing, except me and Retna. I was obviously and terribly wrong 🙂 They like to sing and if I did not get hold of the song request remote control, I would not have had a chance to sing at all. Besides liking to sing, they are also very good singers. So, what is your favorite karaoke moment?

  • Kara Karaoke (really fun, enjoyed it!)

The last time that we stepped into karaoke outlet was last year.  After aboutcom team did really well for many projects, we took everyone in the office out for lunch & karaoke session at RedBox. This time, we have Facebook friends from Bangkok, Ipoh, Kajang, Petaling Jaya and Puchong gathered for a karaoke session.  Seriously, we had this session after thinking that we could meet and catch up, singing was not the main thing.  Guess what, singing became so the main focus, as we discovered who could really sang well.

  • Meet, Sennheiser HD228

I seldom buy headphones.  It is like once in a blue moon kind of affair. Last time when I bought a pair of KOSS was when aboutcom started.  I still have KOSS with me, it is my gym companion.  Way better than Fitness First complimentary headphones. The next headphones which I have been using for nearly five years now, JVC marshmallow.  Again, I am still using it when traveling, especially on flight.  It has good noise cancellation, but hurtful to the ears upon longer usage. Thanks to friends such as Allan Koay, who has pretty taught me how to appreciate great sound in music (thanks to all his self composed…

  • Calls are answered within 20 seconds, otherwise it’s a big mistake for call centre

In a recent Time article, I read an interesting article – Follow the Leaders.  What captured my attention was the instant noodle in China market, as we are working on a client in the similar industry.  Then, I saw the following from an online travel reservation site.  I will share with you what I have experienced after dinner with mom this evening. When Ctrip customers dial in, their calls are answered within 20 seconds. “Otherwise it’s a big, big mistake for our call centers,”James L. Tang, vice president of sales and marketing says.  Ctrip is an online travel reservation based in China, holding 54% of China’s online travel market by…
