• Welcome Home, Hillsong Melbourne

We have heard and sang so many of the Hillsong tracks, reading so much about them, however, going there, visiting them for the first time, something we have been looking forward to. So, Retna and I visited Hillsong for the Sunday service for the first time, at Melbourne.

  • “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” ~ Matthew 27:45-46 Ever wonder what was the feeling of God when His only Son, Jesus was crying out to Him, before His death? I never thought I would become parents, even though I thought about marriage. It is hard to be a good and responsible husband, I mean responsible for the spouse instead of just being good, more so being a father and husband at the same…

  • Christian Rant

I am a Christian, since when I was 15.  I accepted Christ when a schoolmate shared with me about Christ daily while we were heading to school.  I only accepted my water baptism and baptism of Holy Spirit when I was 25.  So what happened in that span of 10 years?  I continued my faith with local Chinese church in Cheras, week after week without getting to know anyone, nor I was aware there was such a thing known as cell group, home fellowship, Christian support group for new believer etc. I only attended my first ever new believer class when I was 27. I am 38 now, and I…

  • Glad to be alive (Praise the Lord!)

In life, sometimes we forgot to thank God for a day that we are live.  Often we might have taken God for granted.  Although I am pretty discipline in reading His words and having my personal devotion on daily basis, but today’s incident of the road accident, I can only say and in fact I proclaimed to Retna, our children and helper that truly God is with us.  He had His angels protecting all of us. We were driving to SIBKL for the evening service, which also the sermon on celebrating Father’s Day.  We had such a good time discussing what we were going to do after the service, like…

  • Explore the Potential While They Are Young

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it, Proverbs 22:6. The context in Proverbs is child, not anyone.  Specifically a child.  It is utmost vital to train a child when he or she is young.  I remember a printing course sharing that shared, a child is almost without any freedom to choose until he or she reaches 8.  I find that partially true, for perhaps until when the child is 4 or 5.  It is crucial for the parents to educate the child to make decision, yes, simple decision right from start. I seldom work on rewarding our…

  • Pep-Talking

I like my weekend, more so I have more days off, thanks to Labor Day which is a public holiday in Malaysia, and probably many other places in the world. We spent the time pep-talking to our sons whom are going for their exam tomorrow.  These pep-talk took place at home, in the car, having meals etc.  As a parents, we do not leave the tasks of bringing up the children to others.  We do it ourselves, even though we have to work to earn the living, which took away most of our time with our children. But, whatever, whenever we have the time with our children, we talked to…

  • Hari Ini, Ku Rasa Bahagia

This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Praise the Lord, it’s our 12th anniversary. We have been together longer than that.  But to make that commitment to be with one another and continue to be one another, that is a real God’s grace and blessing. Praise the Lord. The day when we planned for our wedding ceremony, it is also the day when my former employer announced the winding up of the business operation in Malaysia.  But, guess what, we just never know what the Lord has in store for us.  Besides having Retna as my beautiful and loving wife,…
