• After few years, meeting BlackBerry, this time a 10

10, in many things represents perfect. RIM will be introducing its BlackBerry 10 on the coming January 30 in New York as well as Dubai.  We seldom have BlackBerry sharing at MobileFest meetings.  However, we are lucky enough to have Sukri, who is a developer himself as well as the manager of BlackBerry Developer Group Malaysia, came to share with MobileFest on the latest development of RIM, in particular to BlackBerry, of which almost all of us also really interested to know, if RIM will be able to make it, the come back this time round. Personally, I had been a BlackBerry user from Bold 2, then to Torch, of…

  • Meeting Surface @ MobileFest December Christmas Meet

I remember RIM, the maker of RIM mentioned that it is focusing on the enterprise users with BB10, probably there is where the money is, guess Microsoft is heading there with its Surface, the first tablet made by Microsoft. I forgot to check with Dr. Jim Loi, the owner of Surface, whether it is a RT or Windows 8 Pro that he got. First impression, it is compact, feels about the same weight as iPad.  But one thing which Microsoft has right, is the detachable screen cover and keyboard, which I am thinking how come none of the iPad manufacturer has thought of this for the iPad, iPad Mini?  Or…

  • Mini, iPad Mini

Thanks to Ramanesh aka Keith for organising the iPad Mini’s Mini Gathering at Starbucks, Subang Parade earlier. From MobileFest, we would like to apologise for not able to organise any meeting for the past three months, yep, coming to fourth if we do not have one in December. We had the small gathering, attended by Ramanesh and his family, Soo Kah Keong, Jason, kyalanis, Elijah, Ariel and myself. We had so much fun looking and getting to know iPad Mini, of course to catch up with one another. With Jason around, we had shed much tears, not resulted from jealousy, but from jokes he told.  I am serious, non-stop jokes.…

  • My Liking for Jelly Bean, Just Got Deepen

While Apple is announcing its reshuffling of key personnel and two key personnel being let go, Google enlightens the whole hurricane situation with 3 new Nexus devices, namely – Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.  Now, looks like Google is naming the devices like car models – Citroen C1, C3, C4, C5 etc (ok, probably by now you would know how much I am fond with Citroen). The one that many have seen even prior to the official release is Nexus 4 and there has been review being done already in Eastern Europe (need to check to confirm that again).  We all knew it is LG that is making…

  • Gonna Pass The Purchase of iPad Mini

Yep, Apple has announced the latest iPad Mini in its not so mini event. The iPad Mini has so many leaked images, probably one of the most insider product pictures ever been circulated in Apple history prior to the availability of the product.  The iPad Mini looks exactly the same as what have been widely shown on all the sites and blogs in China, US and every where else in the world. Do you like it? You actually have many reasons to like and dislike it.

  • Butter Project, NFC, Vest, USB Protection – MobileFest Meet Highlights

“The custom ROM is available everywhere, but only Galaxy Nexus official ROM provides the real and only Butter Project, of which is smoother and faster.” said Benny Lee, a retired corporate, and now tech enthusiast, at MobileFest September Meet. While I was searching for the new experience of Jelly Bean, I could only rely on Galaxy Nexus, of which a phone manufactured by Samsung, although I am not a fan of Samsung product, nor an Android, I decided to try.  At least spend some of my time on Android, before I could totally dislike it.  I think Android deserve a chance to let me to get to know it. Amongst…

  • Raya Comes Early [MobileFest July Meet!]

Ramadhan has to come first, before Raya. Don’t get me wrong.  I am as tempted as all the rest of the MobileFest July Meet attendees hosted by cube Apple Premium Outlet at Subang Parade, when we saw Nexus 7, Nexus Q and of course ChromeBox.  In comparing with Apple TV, I some how like the Nexus Q, because of the cute design.  It is heavy, for such a tiny device.  But for a reason.  Filled with great substances – different sound and display outputs, as well as the half sphere actually is the volume control.  We did not have the chance to test it during the meeting, but Bernie Eng…
