• Vatican City, An Overview

According to Vatican City official website, Vatican City State was founded following the signing of the Lateran Pacts between the Holy See and Italy on February 11th 1929. These were ratified on June 7th 1929. Its nature as a sovereign State distinct from the Holy See is universally recognized under international law. In this tiny and world’s smallest state, it has 800 citizens, with 450 of them are the Vatican citizen, the rest are allowed to reside there. Vatican also has its own coin and stamps, but when we were there, the souvenir shops inside Vatican City accept only Euro. I am not too sure how to take a public transport to Vatican City, but…

  • The left behind of modern development (visiting Urban Food Sharing, again)

Pudu was the bus interchange venue for me when I was in secondary school.  Pudu Plaza was the hang out place for me after Taekwondo class on Saturday.  Because we have a buddy whose parent was selling pork noodle in the hawker centre (which long gone now), before we placed ourselves in the video games arcade centre. Later, one of my secondary classmate set up a stall selling claypot chicken rice and hotplate sizzling noodle at Pudu Plaza, of which I remember eating there once, but was like 12 or 13 years ago. I came to Pudu again in 2009 with Lor, when Cinnamon Home Fellowship was scheduled to serve…

  • Handles the Mood Before It Handles You

Something we always teach our sons, even ourselves too.  In some situation when we are moving into very funny mood (angry, feel not right etc), that is the time to be watchful for what we might do that could lead to some consequences, which could be good, or sometimes, bad. I know quite often it is good to let out the mood, but, it simply destroy the moment with the people around you.  Could be family members, friends or colleagues, or even clients.  Temper, is one thing that many finds it hard to manage.  In the past few weeks, I have seen myself loosing temper with family, work or even…

  • Meeting Parkinson

First got to know Parkinson Disease when Michael J. Fox, when he was diagnosed with Parkinson in 1991 but he only made it public in 1998.  Parkinson Disease (PD) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that often impairs the sufferers’ motor skills, speech as a result of muscle rigidity, tremor, a slow of physical movement and perhaps a loss of physical movement in extreme cases.  For more information on PD, you may check it here. After two months of planning for the fellowship and visit to Malaysian Parkinson’s Disease Association (MPDA), Cinnamon Home Fellowship of Full Gospel Assembly gathered all its members who are mostly based in…

  • Total Surrender (after reading Reinhard Bonke’s walking on water)

Reading Reihard Bonke’s posting on Facebook few minutes ago:- When Peter walked on the water it was Peter, not Jesus that figured prominently in this miracle. Peter walked to Jesus – not Jesus to Peter. But with it Peter showed what Jesus can do! If we do no more than what we can, it doesn’t demonstrate Jesus. But doing what He enables us to do, excel, rise above the limits of ourselves, guides people’s eyes to Jesus. Can you see the point? Please let me know. REINHARD BONNKE When Peter walked on water with Jesus, it was the time when he totally surrendered himself to Jesus, believing that he could…

  • Great Visit by Adam + Jess

It has always fun to have visit by family members, friends, brothers and sisters from Christ. Adam and Jess visited us this afternoon for catch up as well as to do S.O.A.P devotion. It was very kind of them to bring us some egg tart as well Seremban roast puff (sao pao).  I actually forgot to bring the pastry out for everyone to share.  Bad on the host 🙁 I see Ariel and Elijah have been blessed by both their presence that allowed them to do the S.O.A.P devotion with adult other than their parents. We had a chat on their new house, Children Ministry Training Programme (a children ministry…

  • Searching for Real Hopes

Today, is a rather interesting and fruitful day for work as well as spiritually.  In the half of afternoon, we were at a media event for Marie France Bodyline, featuring Noryn Aziz.  After the media event was over, I came to attend FGA Home Fellowship Leaders and Deputy Leaders Prayer Meeting, featuring Pastor Michael Koh, California. The opening of the sharing by Ps Michael Koh was awakening.  He prayed for everyone to have the burden removed before he began the session.  The scripture sharing was taken from 1 Peter 1:3-12. One key thing he shared is that we tend to go through challenges, as these tough times cleansed or purified…

  • We Love Peter!

Peter has been a friend of ours, or for me even before I met Retna, while I was still the apprentice Taekwondo instructor some 15 years ago.  The Peter I mean here is Peter’s Pork noodle that once located at Lai Sin, Brickfields of which later moved to Yak Siong which is opposite YMCA KL. Retna and I used to have our lunch or breakfast before proceeded to our dating.  Not that we do not date anymore 🙂 Ever since we have Elijah and Ariel, they too like Peter’s Pork noodle very much.  So now it is moving into Tan’s second generation. Reasonable portion and size, affordable pricing too.
