Our Weekends
We tend to spend a lot of time with our children whenever we can, especially during the long holidays, such as Chinese New Year, Raya, etc, whichever that grants long weekend, or longer off days from work and schools. Last week, we had Raya break. Since we did not plan to head any where due to the major exams coming up for the twins, so we spent time at our weekend home.

How to spend weekend(s)
When Retna and I started @aboutcom_my in 2002, we did not have any weekend to spend for ourselves more so with the kids. We spent most of the weekends, working. Meeting ends meet. It’s not that easy now as well. But, we learn one thing from many of our clients. When you do not take a break for yourself, some day, you may break. So, we put aside weekend, if we can, many of the weekends, to be at home for each other, and also for the kids. Not to forget, the two dogs (used to be one, now fostering mom in law’s dog for time being) too.

What a roller coaster fucking weekend
Just when I enjoyed the ride with business partners, nice chats with Inez about her ballet, blah blah blah, got a call that immediately put all these, into terrible perspective. I seldom feel this sad and down, other than when it was my grandparents and parent passing away many years back. I experienced the terrible pain and sadness on weekend and prolonged to Monday.

Nasty Red Ants Weekend
Chopped the trees planted by developer outside the house which was housed by red ants, together with our Cambodian helper during the weekend. Knowing myself is kind of sensitive to any insect bites, for the sake of the family safety, we decided to do it anyway. The tree was successfully removed but with casualties. My feet suffered major red ant bites. I already knew the ants will be nasty, when we removed their homes and queen.
