Creating iPhone Ringtone with Garage Band (post Lion OSX upgrade)

Click to activate 'loop' & then configure it to time

For whatever reason, the Lion OSX (latest OS, claimed to be the ext generation of all operating system) blocks the drag and drop of iTunes track onto the app to create ringtone.  Unlike the previous OSX, i.e. Snow Leopard, one could do that easily.

Well, I found a workaround.  The steps are rather simple:-

1. First create a new project in Garage Band.  I used the artist name and the track name.  For e.g. Arcade Fire – Empty Room

2. Then, go to iTunes, drag the track to your desktop.

3. This is kind of troublesome, I know.  You then drag the track you have placed on the desktop and drag it onto Garage Band.

4. The track is ready to be created as ringtone.

5. Once done, click ‘send to iTunes as ringtone’.

Hope this helps.
